There are two (2) key programmes under the Foundation's educational support programme.
Scripture Union (SU) Support Project
The Scripture Union (SU) Support Project, is a collaboration that utlilises the network of the SU within the Ghanaian secondary school system. The SU identifies brilliant students who are already in school but are in danger of falling out due to financial constraints and Gaede provides the required monetary support. This support is typically long term and continues through the beneficiary's school cycle. Monitoring of beneficiary progress is done through a network of SU counsellors within the schools.
With the introduction of the government’s Free SHS policy, Gaede foundation’s work in secondary schools has reduced considerably allowing earlier beneficiaries who were very successful in their final exams and have gained admission to the next level to continue to benefit from the foundation’s support.
Currently, majority of the support that the foundation is offering is at the tertiary level.
General Support Programme
The General Support Programme identifies young people from varied backgrounds who have already fallen out of school due to financial difficulties. Gaede works with these beneficiaries to identify schools/programmes of their choice and supports them through these programmes.
The Foundation provides after programme support to its beneficiaries. This includes internships, job placement services and start-up funding to graduates of the programme who want to set up their own businesses.
