About Us

Who We Are

The Gaede Foundation is a Christian private Fund limited by guarantee. Incorporated in July 2010 it aims at providing positive interventions in the educational, health and financial sectors in West Africa.

The Foundation is named after Harry Gaede, a retired Canadian judge who himself provided much needed funding to the founding trustee of the Foundation in the nineties. Harry refused payment for this selfless act of kindness but his generosity has helped to ensure that people in the West African sub-region, especially the young, now have hope in the form of a micro Fund that is dedicated towards helping them build a better future for themselves and their communities.

The Gaede Foundation aims at providing strong support in the educational, health and financial sectors of the Ghanaian economy. The key goal of individual support is to provide sustainable interventions in the lives of less privileged youth. An important ingredient sought by the Foundation in beneficiaries is basic literacy skills and a deep desire to improve their own individual lives in their preferred spaces.

.

Financial support begins at the primary and secondary levels and may continue depending on the status of the beneficiary involved. Gaede retains job placement services for beneficiaries who have successfully completed their training and in selected cases will provide funding to individuals who want to set up businesses on their own.

Vision & Mission

Our vision is a West African sub-region that provides full access to basic health and education for its children.

Our mission is to ensure that the children we engage with have full educational support from early stage school to the tertiary level. We also provide basic healthcare support in the communities in which we operate. We achieve these aims by identifying children and youth from poor backgrounds, identifying schools for them and providing full financial support to them.

We also provide mentoring to these young ones in order to provide them with some level of guidance as they develop into responsible adults.
