My name is Gifty Omane, a sixth year Doctor of Pharmacy student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and technology (KNUST).

My father passed away when I was in my first year in secondary school. Madam Mina Offei, the school’s counsellor and SU patron broke the news of my father’s passing to me. After that she started paying close attention to me and opted to help me get a scholarship as things started taking a downhill turn.

On one occasion, my name was called out at an SU meeting to meet Madam Offei and Mr. Yaw Offei, the then travelling secretary of SU. When I met them, they both broke the news of my getting a scholarship from Gaede Fund. That was around year 2010.

That was indeed one of the happiest moments of my life. The Fund paid my fees and also gave me pocket money. Thanks to them my worries about leaving school prematurely were abated and I completely school successfully as one of the best students by the Grace of God.

Unfortunately my mother passed away when I was about entering the university. Gaede Fund came to my rescue again and thanks to their immense support, I am in the final year of a six year program. With the help of the fund, my dream of becoming a pharmacist is almost a reality and I cannot thank the patrons enough.

All I want to do is to be a part of the Fund and help others as the Fund has helped me. I hope to lend a helping hand to all in any way that I can to help others achieve their dream.
